Hello, readers.

Why I’m starting this blog, and what might end up here.

I have a habit of getting interested in something, looking into it for what I think will be five minutes, and coming back hours later with far too much to say about it.

Usually, that ends with me info dumping on someone. I figured it might be time to give those thoughts a home.

So, welcome. I’m Bernardo Cruz, a software developer from Portugal, and this is my blog.

Some posts will come from things I’ve worked on: a development problem I finally solved, a DevOps setup that took more effort than expected, or something I built just to see if I could. Others might be about a game I’ve been playing, somewhere I’ve eaten, or a question I couldn’t leave alone.

Tech will probably come up a lot, but so might finance, politics, or whatever else has my attention. I don’t want to pick one subject and then feel like everything I write has to fit it.

Sometimes I’ll want to explain what I’ve learned. Sometimes I’ll just have an opinion. I’ll try to be clear about the difference, give enough context to make my point, and leave room to change my mind.

I’m not setting a posting schedule. I’d like to write when I have something I actually want to share, whether that takes a few paragraphs or a much longer post.

Mostly, I want somewhere I can take my time with an idea and put it into words. If someone reads it and finds it useful, disagrees with it, or ends up looking into the same thing, that’s a good reason to keep going.

Let’s see what ends up here.
